LONDONBritain’s Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) has issued its invitation to tender (ITT) for the 2016-2017 government-funded offshore seismic acquisition and processing program.

The selected contractor will survey frontier areas offshore southwest Britain including the Celtic Sea, western English Channel, and the Irish Sea, and also the East Shetland Platform in the UK northern North Sea.

OGA selected these areas after consultation with industry representatives.

Later, OGA will open a separate ITT for legacy seismic data reprocessing.

Under the previous frontier program completed last year,WesternGeco acquired new seismic over the Rockall Trough and Mid-North Sea High areas.

The project delivered around 40,000 km (24,854 mi) of new and legacy data which was published in March under the Open Government License.

OGA has also opened ITTs for regional and field support engineering services, subsurface studies and reservoir evaluation services and geoscience project services.

These contracts will replace the current Oil & Gas Maximizing Recovery Program contracts and will run for three years.
