TRONDHEIM, Norway – SMOE in Singapore has completed the deck for Det norske oljeselskap’s Ivar Aasen platform.
Early next month the Cosco vesselXiang Rui Kou will transport the structure to Norway for installation in the central Norwegian North Sea.
On arrival the deck will be lifted onto the jacket, built by Saipem in Sardinia, and integrated with the living quarters, constructed in Stord western Norway.
The Ivar Aasen field, west of theJohan Sverdrup field development, contains around 204 MMboe.
Production is due to start in December and could continue for 20 years, depending on oil prices and production trends.
