LONDON – EnQuest has updated its brownfield and greenfield investment campaigns in the UK North Sea and offshore Malaysia.
In the northern UK North Sea, the company completed the first phase of a scale treatment program on Don Southwest and is preparing for a second phase and a similar program on West Don.
Modifications to an export pump have increased plant efficiency and reduced platform fuel costs.
At the Heather/Broom fields production is building following last year’s drilling campaign and ongoing water injection optimization.
EnQuest anticipates first oil from theKraken development in the East Shetland basin during the first half of next year. The fuel gas and separation modules were lifted on board the FPSO last month at the yard in the Far East, and the contractor has received final deliveries of outstanding materials for a water injection/hydraulic submersible pump module.
Fuel gas compressors are mechanically complete and access platforms have been fabricated and integrated. The two complete units will shortly be lifted into the module infrastructure.
Work continues on marine systems, tank operations are complete, and work has finished on the helideck and aft deck areas.
Kraken’s drill center 2 (DC2) production and water injection manifolds have been installed at the North Sea location. A vessel is at DC2 installing jumpers and relocating glass-reinforced plastic covers that were previously wet stored.
Late last month, a pipelay vessel began mobilizing for the DC3 rigid pipeline installation campaign.
Subsea trees for two injector wells and two producers were batch set onto the respective wellheads with all four trees handled simultaneously by the drilling rig.
A further injector well was drilled through the reservoir, encountering all geo-bodies as prognosed, and subsequently completed and tested. Results from an injectivity test were above expectations.
In the UK central North Sea, production optimization trials continue at the Greater Kittiwake Area. Sand clean-up operations, lifeboat and gas turbine controls upgrades have concluded.
As for the currentScolty/Crathes tiebacks to the Kittiwake platform, both wells have been completed ahead of schedule and under budget. The Crathes reservoir has exceeded expectations while Scolty is on prognosis.
Offshore construction is progressing as scheduled on the platform and subsea construction should get under way this summer.
All six production wells atAlma/Galia, which came onstream last year, are now available - production volumes should rise following enhancements such as acidization. The fourth oil cargo off-take was delivered earlier this month.
First-quarter production from EnQuest’s PM8/Seligi assets offshore Malaysia averaged just over 9,000 boe/d, up 10% from the corresponding period last year.
This year the focus is on integrity and reliability to support safe and cost-efficient operations. In the longer term, the company plans to extend field life by investing in idle well restoration, facility improvements and upgrades, and technical studies supporting development drilling and secondary recovery projects to increase ultimate recovery.
At theTanjong Baram field, intervention work this month should improve production levels.
