ABERDEEN, UK – Bibby Offshore has contracted Aquatic Engineering & Construction to replace subsea infrastructure for BP’s $1-billion Eastern Trough Area Project (ETAP) life extension project in the UK central North Sea.
Aquatic will deploy its carousel system to install 35 km (21.7 mi) of umbilicals ensuring electrical control capability between ETAP’s central processing platform and theMachar field. Installation is expected to begin next month and last for roughly 30 days.
This is the first phase of Bibby’s five-vessel campaign, involving trenching, structure and riser installation followed by electrical diagnostics and commissioning works.
In addition, Aquatic will provide lay equipment and personnel for the riser installation campaign in September.
