BrasFELS secures FPSO topsides construction contract

MODEC Offshore Production Systems (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. has awarded Keppel FELS Brasil SA’s BrasFELS shipyard a $137-million FPSO topsides construction contract.

SINGAPORE– MODEC Offshore Production Systems (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. has awarded Keppel FELS Brasil SA’s BrasFELS shipyard a BRL 500-million ($137-million) FPSO topsides construction contract.
It covers the fabrication and integration of nine topsides production modules for theFPSOCidade de Campos dos Goytacazes MV29. The vessel is expected to arrive at the shipyard by 1Q 2017 for the integration phase.
When completed, the FPSOCidade de Campos dos Goytacazes MV29 will have the capacity to process 150,000 b/d of oil and 5 MMcm/d (177 MMcf/d) of gas. The unit’s storage capacity is 1.6 MMbbl of oil. Slated to depart the shipyard in 3Q 2017, the FPSO will be deployed at the Tartaruga Verde and Tartaruga Mestiça fields in the Campos basin offshore Brazil.
BrasFELS’ current job for MODEC is the integration and commissioning of theFPSOCidade de Caraguatatuba MV27. The FPSO is expected to arrive at the shipyard in 2Q 2016, and will be deployed at the Lapa field in the Santos basin.
