ABERDEEN, UK – Awilco Drilling says the yard stay for the semisubmersible WilPhoenix is taking longer than anticipated. The rig remains berthed at Hartlepool on the northeast English coast on a zero day rate.
The company is working to finish the program in cooperation with clientApache North Sea.
It estimates the total cost for the yard stay and installation of a new BOP will be below the budgeted $42.5 million.
The rig has 22 months remaining of its three-year contract.
