Offshore staff
VIENNA, Austria – Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC), OMV, and Occidental Petroleum have signed a contract to explore Abu Dhabi’s North-West Offshore, including the Ghasha and Hail areas.
Under the four-year agreement the partners will conduct seismic, drilling, and engineering work related to exploration, appraisal, and potential field developments.
OMV and Occidental will contribute seconded personnel and technical specialist for the evaluation activities.
The aim is to firm up volumes within the undeveloped North-West Offshore fields, with a longer-term view to a future development.
OMV is already a partner with ADNOC in the appraisal of the sour gas Shuwaihat field and its exploration in East Abu Dhabi.
