Lundin spuds second of back-to-back exploration wells offshore Malaysia

STOCKHOLM, Sweden – The jackup West Prospero has started drilling the Bambazon exploration well for Lundin Petroleum offshore eastern Malaysia.
The shallow-water well in block SB307/SB308 will target potential hydrocarbons in Miocene sands, north of a producing offshore field.
Lundin anticipates drilling of the well to TD 1,250 m (4,101 ft) below mean sea level is expected to take around 25 days.
Earlier, the operator opted to P&A another well drilled by the same rig on theImbok structure, which delivered only minor oil shows.
