LONDON – Lloyd’s Register and Aker Solutions have agreed to cooperate on efficiency improvements in engineering and subsea oil and gas developments.
Aker will gain access to all relevant services from the Lloyd’s Register Group, including inspection, compliance, certification and advisory/consulting services in areas such as risk management/HSEQ, engineering dynamics, asset integrity, drilling, wells and reservoirs.
The first call off from the contract is a global project for international quality management system standard ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 (environmental) certification of Aker Solutions’ Subsea division.
Lloyds Register’s LRQA division, a specialist in management systems compliance, will perform this work.
Inge Alme, sales director at Lloyd’s Register, said: “Of special interest is our process for technology qualifications. This is an important area…where new innovations in areas likesubsea processing can be critical for tomorrow’s leading oil and gas operators.”
Lloyd’s Register’s Technology Qualification allows companies to provide evidence that their equipment will function within specified operational limits and with an acceptable level of confidence.
The three-year framework agreement carries options for a two-year extension.
