IKM wins subsea scope for Johan Castberg in the Barents Sea

Statoil has awarded IKM Ocean Design a two-year contract for the Johan Castberg subsea project in the Norwegian Barents Sea.

SANDES, Norway – Statoil has awarded IKM Ocean Design a two-year contract for the Johan Castberg subsea project in the Norwegian Barents Sea.

The scope includes pre-front-end engineering and design (FEED) and FEED ofpipelines, risers, cables, tie-ins and related structures, with options for detail design and follow-on engineering and engineering, procurement, and construction of pipeline-related structures.

IfStatoil takes up the options, the contract duration could extend to seven years, lifting the value to NOK200 million ($22.6 million).

IKM will perform engineering from its Lysaker office.

Johan Castberg is around 240 km (149 mi) northwest of Hammerfest in northern Norway. Development will take in the Skrugard, Havis and Drivis fields, all in production license 532.
