Petronas produces first oil from Tembikai offshore Malaysia

Petronas has achieved first oil from the Tembikai field offshore Malaysia, under the Tembikai-Chenang Cluster small field risk service contract.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia– Petronas has achieved first oil from the Tembikai field offshore Malaysia, under the Tembikai-Chenang Cluster small field risk service contract.
The Tembikai development includes a central processing platform connected to an FSO vessel via a flexible subsea pipeline. The platform is aSeahorse light-weight structure and, according to Petronas, it is the first of its kind to be installed in Southeast Asia.
Tembikai production is from one well, and two more production wells are being drilled. Upon completion, the three wells are expected to have peak production of about 2,000 b/d of oil.
The field, offshore Peninsular Malaysia in 70 m (230 ft) of water, is operated by Petronas-owned VESTIGO Petroleum Sdn Bhd.
