WALLSEND, UK – OGN Group has completed construction of an 800-metric ton (882-ton) process module for an unnamed operator’s project in the UK central North Sea.
The module sailed late last month from OGN’s Hadrian Yard on the River Tyne. It will become part of an existing twin platform gas condensate production hub.
OGN fabricated and provided pre-commissioning support for the 19-m (62-ft) high module, incorporating equipment that included a primary separator, condensate heater, gas cooler, water degasser, hydro-cyclones, and condensate recycle pumps.
Additionally, the company has launched a new pipework division to deliver specialist fabrication services for bespoke projects, including for offshore oil and gas installations.
Recently the company invested in an automated cutting machine which provides a computer numeric control capacity that could only be achieved previously through manual cutting.
The machine is said to delivering accurately-cut 3D profiles in pipes to provide precise welding fit up connections, and improves productivity by reducing preparation and welding times.
It is capable of processing pipe from 50 mm OD to 1,200 mm OD, with plasma cutting on pipe wall thickness of up to 20-25 mm and Oxy-Gas on pipe walls above 25 mm thickness.
