EL DORADO, Arkansas – Murphy has discovered gas in the Permai structure in block 10 in the deepwater Sabah Delta basin offshore Sabah, Malaysia.
This was the company’s eighth successive find of its campaign in the area around theRotan field FLNG project.
During 2Q the company also completed a five-well program drilling for natural gas at the shallow-water Belum field off Sarawak. Belum has lower nitrogen content that should blend into the company’s currently producing fields.
Currently the company is drilling oil wells at the Permas shallow-water development.
