SINGAPORE – Vard Holdings has signed a contract to design and construct a diving support and offshore construction vessel for Kreuz Subsea.
The vessel, a VARD 317 design with a total length of 91.2 m (299 ft) and a beam of 21.5 m (71 ft), will be developed for diving support and subsea construction.
Hull construction is to be done by Vard Tulcea in Romania, with delivery scheduled from Vard Søviknes in Norway in 2Q 2017.
The DP-2 vessel will have a 100-ton active heave compensated offshore crane and will be prepared for ROV operations.
The diving system features a single bell system for a maximum of 12 divers, and can operate in water depths of up to 300 m (984 ft) with a surface diving spread suitable for air diving to 50 m (164 ft) water depth. The diving accommodation is divided into three saturation living chambers.
The vessel will be built according to latest SPS regulations, and to accommodate up to 105 persons.
