SINGAPORE– Keppel FELS has named three of the five B Class jackup rigs under construction for Grupo R. The three identical rigs were named CANTARELL I, CANTARELL II,and CANTARELL III.Keppel FELS says this was the world’s first three-rig naming ceremony.
The KFELS B Class jackup is designed to operate in water depths to 400 ft (122 m) and drill to depths of 30,000 ft (9,144 m).
Developed by Keppel’s Offshore Technology Development, the KFELS B Class jackup is equipped with a fully automated high-capacity rack and pinion jacking system, and self-positioning fixation system.
It has accommodation with full amenities for 150 persons.
