EMAS AMC starts work on North Sea Aviat pipelines

Apache North Sea has contracted EMAS AMC to install pipelines and subsea facilities for the Aviat field development in the UK central North Sea.

SINGAPORE – Apache North Sea has contracted EMAS AMC to install pipelines and subsea facilities for the Aviat field development in the UK central North Sea.

The $36-million order is part of athree-year frame agreement with Apache for offshore construction services secured last August.

EMAS AMC’s scope of work includes project management, detailed engineering, procurement, and installation of 23.2 km (14.4 mi) of rigid pipelines and 24 km (14.9 mi) of umbilical (reel-lay), flexible riser, spools, and associated structures and survey, diving, and pre-commissioning services.

The company will employ its EMAS Marine Base Gulen spoolbase on Norway’s west coast to fabricate the rigid pipeline, and its reel vessel,Lewek Express for the offshore installation.

Project management and engineering has started at the company’s Oslo office, while cooperation partner Harkand will undertake the survey and diving related scope. Offshore operations should proceed later this year.
