Offshore staff
DOHA, Qatar – Qatar’s state-owned oil company is soliciting bids to operate the offshore al-Shaheen field.
The Associated Press has reported thatQatar Petroleum is inviting international companies to bid on operation and development of the field starting in 2017 when the existing agreement with Maersk Oil expires. Maersk also is invited to bid for the ongoing work.
Al-Shaheen is 80 km (50 mi) offshore and produces about 300,000 b/d of oil.
