SAN DONATO MILANESE, ItalyEni has achieved its second discovery this year in Area D offshore Libya.

The A1-1/1 well on the Bouri North prospect was drilled in 125 m (410 ft) of water, 20 km (12.4 mi) north of the producing Borui field and 140 km (87 mi) from the Libyan coast.

It encountered gas and condensates in the Eocene-aged Metlaoui group. During the facilities-constrained production test, the well flowed 1,340 boe/d through a 64/64-in. choke.

In a production configuration, Eni says, the well could deliver more than 3,000 boe/d.

Eni North Africa BV operates Contract Area D with a 100% working interest.
