Woodside completes acquisition of Apache’s Wheatstone share

PERTH, Australia –Woodside has completed the Wheatstone LNG and Balnaves oil project acquisition from Apache Corp. for $2.817 billion.

Under the terms of the agreement, Woodside has acquired a 13% interest in theWheatstone LNG Project and a 65% interest in the Julimar-Brunello upstream gas development, with near-term production; and a 65% interest in the Balnaves oil project, with immediate production.

The initiating transaction also included the Kitimat LNG project onshore Canada. That portion of the deal is expected to close in a few days.
