LONDON –African Petroleum has updated the reserves prospects for its offshore Sierra Leone holdings.

ERC Equipoise Ltd. prepared the update covering prospective oil resources in license blocks SA-03 and SL-4A-10. The results bring the combined net unrisked prospective oil to 1,345 MMbbl and the net risked prospective resources to 223 MMbbl.

African Petroleum has said only Sierra Leone license SL-03 is covered by a fully processed 3D seismic dataset. Further3D seismic was acquired over license SL-4A-10 in 2014 and processing is scheduled for completion in 2Q 2015. Consequently only the potential in license SL-03 has been matured to prospect level apart from the Albian four-way closure “Regel” that extends from SL-03 into SL-4A-10.

Additional leads have been identified in SL-4A-10 based on fasttrack seismic volume, and these will be matured once the final data is available.
