CALGARY, Canada – Ithaca Energy says completion operations are on-going on the fifth and final development well on the Stella field in the UK central North Sea.
A 2,137-ft (651-m) gross horizontal reservoir section has been drilled and completed in the Ekofisk chalk reservoir, with the well intersecting a net reservoir interval of 2,073 ft (632 m) and extensive natural fractures along the entire length.
A clean-up flow test is expected to begin soon, after which theENSCO 100 rig will be demobilized, marking the end of the Stella field drilling campaign.
Technip is due to re-start subsea installation operations in April 2015.
At other projects in the UK North Sea where Ithaca is a partner, water injection has started on the Causeway field; an electrical submersible pump is in service on the Fionn field; and production is ramping up from the Pierce following the completion of FPSO modification works for the tie-in of theBrynhild field.
TheYthan production well should start up later this spring. In addition, Ithaca has re-transferred the Beatrice facilities in the Outer Moray Firth to former operator Talisman following the cessation of production.
