Offshore staff
LIVINGSTON, Scotland –Nexen Petroleum UK Ltd. awarded Asset Guardian Solutions Ltd. (AGSL) a contract to provide its Asset Guardian product for Nexen’s Golden Eagle development in the UK North Sea.
The software management tool helps to secure the integrity and improve management of the process control software used to operate the development. AGSL is also providing AGSync software, which allows data and files to be synchronized between multiple onshore and offshore locations.
Asset Guardian software manages the requirements associated with process control software systems used to operate oil and gas assets. The product also provides configuration change management, software version control, disaster recovery and a secure repository for storing software files and data. Through the product, onshore and offshore personnel can access to the same information.
Implementing Asset Guardian will assist Nexen Petroleum, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CNOOC Ltd., in continuing to comply with relevant regulatory standards, guideline and codes of practices, such as IEC61508, 61511, ISO 9001, CPNI and HSE KP4, among others.
