SCHIEDAM, the Netherlands – Brazilian shipyard Grupo CBO has contracted Huisman to supply anchor handling and towing winch equipment for four new Havyard 843 anchor handler tug supply (AHTS) vessels.

Huisman will construct the packages at its new production facility along the Itajai-Açu River in Navegantes, Brazil, which is due to open in April.

It expects to deliver the equipment in 2016 and 2017. Estaleiro Aliança (2x) and Estaleiro Oceana (2x) will build the vessels.

The four electric-driven packages will each comprise one 400-metric ton (441-ton) anchor handling, one 400-metric ton towing and two 120-metric ton (132-ton) secondary winches.

Water-cooled clutches will be integrated in the drive train, providing overload protection, high speed pay-out, and emergency release.

Sete Brasil has also contracted the facility in Navegantes to supply six 65-metric ton (71.6-ton) lattice boom cranes and four 65-metric ton knuckleboom cranes, while Technip-DOF has commissioned cranes and pipe storage baskets for two 340-metric ton (375-ton) tiltable pipelay systems.
