TEHRAN, Iran – North Drilling Co. has spudded a third exploratory well on the Sardar-e-Jangal oil field in the Iranian sector of the Caspian Sea.
Managing director Hedayatollah Khademi told news service Shana that drilling of the second well had finished after reaching a depth of 3,488 m (11,443 ft). The well underwent production tests including pressure and temperature data recording.
Each well drilled to date could produce 2,000-5,000 b/d, the official added.
Khazar Exploration and Production Co. operates the field, which has estimates in-place oil of 2 Bbbl, of which 25% is thought to be recoverable.
