ABU DHABI, UAE– Gulf Marine Services (LSE: GMS) has secured a new long-term contract for one of its Large Class self-propelled self-elevating support vessels (SESV).
The vessel will commence the four-year charter (three years firm with a one-year option) at the end of March, on completion of its current assignment in theMiddle East North Africa (MENA) region.
The new charter is for an unnamed national oil company in the region, supporting opex work in the area.
This latest award lifts GMS’ backlog of work to $739 million. The group’s entireSESV fleet is currently chartered, supporting brownfield oil and gas recovery, well services, and maintenance work in the MENA region and offshore northwest Europe.
A GMS spokesman said: “Our ability to adapt from our normal multi-move well intervention activity into supplying a large capacity accommodation barge from the same design validates and reinforces our strategy to keep our designs flexible…”
