Chevron North Sea has awarded Amec Foster Wheeler a front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for the Captain enhanced oil recovery (EOR) development in the UK North Sea.

LONDONChevron North Sea has awarded Amec Foster Wheeler a front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for the Captain enhanced oil recovery (EOR) development in the UK North Sea.

This will deploy polymer injection technology to increase oil and gas recovery.

The FEED relates to a proposed bridge linked platform (BLP) “B” which will be used to store, mix, and pump polymer. Additionally, Amec Foster Wheeler will be responsible for the BLP brownfield tie-ins to the existingCaptain facilities and for minor works on the field’s FPSO.

Captain EOR represents the fourth phase of development of theheavy-oil field in the Outer Moray Firth, around 68 mi (109 km) north of Aberdeen.
