LONDON– Tullow Oil says the connection between the Jubilee FPSO and the Ghana National Gas Corp. onshore gas processing facility is complete.
The facility is expected to become fully operational toward year-end, allowing gas to be exported from the FPSO, thereby reducing the requirement for gas re-injection. However, because of the large volumes of gas injected into the reservoir since first oil in 2010, it will likely take until 4Q 2015 for Jubilee’s oil production to reach the FPSO’s capacity of 120,000 b/d.
Tullow expects to complete the final twoJubilee Phase 1A wells during the first half of 2015, adding well capacity to sustain and build production from the field in the longer term.
The field partners are working with Ghana’s government to obtain approvals to drill additional wells in 2015 for the next stage of the Jubilee development. The Mahogany-Teak-Akasa (MTA) appraisal program has been completed in the West Cape Three Points license. Following evaluation, the partners aim to submit a full-field development plan next year forJubilee and the MTA area.
Thedeepwater TEN development project is expected to be about 50% complete by year-end. Recent milestones include engineering design completion, dry-docking of the FPSO, drilling completed of the first eight wells ahead of schedule, and progress in manufacture of the subsea equipment.
First local content element of the FPSO conversion was achieved, with the Ghanaian-made module support stools arriving on schedule in Singapore.
