STAVANGER, Norway – Wintershall has awarded FMC Kongsberg a $280-million engineering, procurement, and construction contract for subsea equipment for the Maria development in the Norwegian Sea.
FMC will supply a subsea production system comprising two integrated template manifolds with respective trees and auxiliary equipment. The order includes the dynamic and the static umbilical, production riser base, subsea umbilical termination unit, and subsea control system.
Maria is 200 km (124 mi) from the Trondheim coastline on the Halten Terrace. The company plans to link the field through existing infrastructure to the producing Kristin gas/condensate field 20 km (12.4 mi) to the west, and Heidrun and Åsgard to the north, via the twosubsea templates.
It expects to produce around 130 MMbbl of oil and just over 2 bcm (70 bcf) of gas. Wintershall operates in partnership with Petoro and Centrica.
The company is also working on a subsea solution for itsSkarfjell development in the Norwegian North Sea, and a possible extension north of its producing Brage field.
