Lamprell to deliver Mercury rig to Lukoil in Caspian Sea

Lamprell has completed the construction of the second Caspian Sea jackup drilling rig, the Mercury.

DUBAI –Lamprell has completed the construction of the second Caspian Sea jackup drilling rig, the Mercury.

Delivery of the rig will take place in the coming month and it is expected to commence operations on its first contract in the Caspian Sea alongside its sister vessel, theNeptune, which was delivered in November 2013.

Lukoil hasNeptune contracted through 2019 for use in the Russian Caspian Sea, with the contract commencing this month.  When Mercury leaves the yard, she’ll be working for Dragon Oil in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian through 1H 2017.
