CALGARY, Canada – Suncor Energy expects first oil from the Nexen-operated Golden Eagle project in the UK central North Sea before year-end.
Development drilling will continue into 2015 as production ramps up to its planned capacity
In easternCanada, construction continues on the gravity-based structure and topsides for the ExxonMobil-operated Hebron field off Newfoundland and Labrador, and Suncor anticipates first oil in 2017.
Drilling continues on the Hibernia Southern Extension Unit, while the South White Rose Extension project is nearing completion. Both projects should come on stream next year, increasing overall production and extending the productive life of the fields.
As for the Ben Nevis-Avalon reservoir at Hibernia and further expansion into the West White Rose field, the partners are targeting sanction in 2015.
