LONDON – BG Group has contracted Plexus Holdings to supply surface wellhead and mudline equipment services for an exploration well in the UK North Sea.
Under the 150-day contract, Plexus will provide its 18¾-in. 15,000-psi (1,034-bar) high-pressure/high-temperature (HP/HT) adjustable surface wellhead and mudline system for a standard pressure well.
This will be drilled by theTransocean Galaxy II after the rig has completed the GDF Suez-operated Dalziel exploration well in the UK central North Sea, which is also using Plexus’ wellhead equipment and services.
Previously the company has supportedBG Group on exploration and appraisal wells on UK prospects including Thunderer, White Bear, and Jackdaw.
