Norske Shell gets go-ahead for Draugen subsea operation

Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has approved A/S Norske Shell’s request to use the G1 subsea well on the Draugen field in the Norwegian Sea.

OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has approved A/S Norske Shell’s request to use the G1 subsea well on the Draugen field in the Norwegian Sea, along with associated subsea pump and other facilities on the seafloor.
Shell operatesDraugen in block 6407/12. Production started in 1992 from a fixed, integrated concrete platform.
Starting last year the company implemented an increased oil recovery plan that involved drilling and tying back foursubsea wells to the platform. G1 is being commissioned.
