KONGSBERG, Norway – Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies has won a contract for the extended concept study and pre-front-end engineering and design (pre-FEED) for Statoil’s Johan Castberg project in the Norwegian Barents Sea.
This involves development of the Skrugard, Havis, and Drivis oil fields in production license 532, 230 km (143 mi) northwest of northern Norway’s North Cape. Water depth ranges from 360-405 m (1,181-1,329 ft).
The contract is a continuation of concept design work finished in June, and is due to be completed by June 2015. It includes integrated engineering services necessary for the conceptual design and pre-FEED design of the infield flowline systems and riser system.
Kongsberg will perform design optimization and engineering on alternative technical solutions, and will serve as lead contractor for the project interfaces.
