Offshore staff
TOKYO – Idemitsu Oil & Gas has discovered gas and condensate with its fourth well in blocks 05-1 b and 05-1c offshore southern Vietnam.
The well was spudded last February, with drillstem tests in May and August confirming gas and condensate.
It follows oil and gas finds from previous wells on the blocks, located 300 km (186 mi) southeast of Ho Chi Minh City.
Idemitsu plans a detailed reservoir evaluation and to assess other potential prospects in the blocks.
The company was awarded the surrounding PSC in 2004, in partnership with JX Nippon Oil & Gas and Teikoku Oil.
