DUBLIN, Ireland – Providence Resources says 2D seismic survey operations have started over the Newgrange prospect area, 260 km (161 mi) offshore southwest Ireland.
The M/VHarrier Explorer is acquiring 2,500 line km (1,553 mi) of long-offset 2D reflection data as part of a regional multi-client program. Polarcus MC and Seabird Exploration are the joint contractors.
Around 1,000 line km (621 mi) will be focused on the Newgrange prospect. Newgrange is in frontier exploration license 6/14 in around 1,000 m (3,281 ft) of water in the Goban Spur basin. Providence operates in partnership with Sosina Exploration.
