LONDON -- Premier Oil says construction and onshore commissioning of the platform for its Solan oilfield development west of Shetland are nearing completion. The associated subsea storage tank sailed from Drydocks World, Dubai, in June.
Next month the offshore installation and heavy-lift campaign should begin, to be followed by hook up and final commissioning. Premier now estimates the overall project cost, including investments beyond first oil, at $1.4 billion
As for other ongoing UK projects involving Premier,redevelopment of the Kyle field in the North Sea is nearing completion. With the riser linking the field to the Banff field facilities in place, oil should start flowing before the end of this month.
Subject to rig availability, Premier plans to appraise the heavy oil play in theBagpuss/Blofeld prospects in 2015.
In Norway, front-end engineering design (FEED) is progressing for the Premier-operatedBream development in the North Sea, along with negotiations for an FPSO. The partners are targeting a project sanction decision for year-end.
In the offshore North Falkland basin, Premier’s pre-development activities continue on theSea Lion project. The functional specification and basis of design have been finalized for the TLP, and award of the FEED contract to specialist contractors is imminent.
Later this year a geotechnical survey will start at Sea Lion, results of which will be incorporated into the FEED process.
Offshore Indonesia, Premier’sPelikan and Naga platforms have been tied in to the Gajah Baru facilities and development drilling has begun, with first gas due later in 2014.
