CALGARY, Canada – Construction vessels have started work offshore China installing a second deepwater production pipeline from the main Liwan 3-1 field to the Liwan shallow-water central platform.
According to partnerHusky Energy, the field will be shut-in for six to eight weeks starting in 4Q to facilitate the program.
Production will continue to ramp up through the existing Liwan facilities as various onshore power plants complete their commissioning and startup process.
In Indonesia, Husky says construction is progressing on the shallow-water platform infrastructure for the BD field and the contract award for the FPSO has received final regulatory approval. Tenders are out for the MDA and MBH joint development, and negotiations continue over a gas sales agreement
In the Jeanne d’Arc basin offshoreNewfoundland and Labrador, Husky says drilling has restarted on a Hibernia-formation well that will target a deeper zone beneath the North Amethyst field, with first production planned later this year.
Production equipment is expected to be installed soon for the South White Rose extension, with first oil expected around year-end.
A public review process is under way for the West White Rose extension project. Work continues on a graving dock to support construction of a fixed wellhead platform. Subject to approvals, first oil could follow in 2017.
Husky and operator partner Statoil have started a 3D seismic program in the Bay du Nord discovery area of the Flemish Pass basin, which will be followed by an 18-month deepwater drilling campaign.
