TEL AVIV, Israel -- A report from consultants Netherland, Sewell & Associates has upped estimates of gas in place at the deepwater Leviathan field offshore Israel.
Delek Drilling and Avner Oil Exploration commissioned the report, which suggests the following scenarios:
The lowestimate of gas has increased 11% from 14.89-16.58 tcf; the best estimate is 16% higher, up from 18.91-21.93 tcf; and the high estimate has increased 10%, from 24.14-26.52 tcf.
According toDelek, the increases follow a quantitative and qualitative improvement of the database for the Leviathan natural gas reservoir, based on re-processing and re-analysis of the 3-D seismic surveys, and a series of laboratory tests on reservoir rock and liquids, including routine/special core analysis.
