HOUSTON – Noble Energy says the onshore gas compression project at Ashdod on the Israeli coast is more than 60% complete with all main equipment installed.
The facilities are expected to expand deliverability of gas from thedeepwater Tamar field by 200 MMcf/d (5.7 MMcm/d).
In recent months Noble and its partners have signed two letters of intent to sellnatural gas to regional customers. These involve supplying 440 MMcf/d (12 MMcm/d) of gas from Tamar and 700 MMcf/d (20 MMcm/d) from the undeveloped Leviathan field.
Resources for Leviathan have been upgraded to 22 tcf (620 bcm). The partners have secured approval from Israel’s National Planning Committee of a site permit for a northern gas delivery point for the first-phase development.
