Bumi Armada contracts Keppel for North Sea FPSO conversion

SINGAPORE – Bumi Armada Berhad subsidiary Armada Kraken has contracted Keppel Shipyard to convert an FPSO for EnQuest’s Kraken heavy-oil field development in the UK northern North Sea.

This will be aharsh-environment floater, capable of producing 14° API oil over a period of 25 years. It is due for delivery next summer.

It will have capacity to process up to 460,000 b/d of fluids and 80,000 b/d of oil, with water injection capacity of 275,000 b/d, 20 MMcf/d (566,337 cm/d) of gas handling, and an oil storage capacity of 600,000 bbl.

Keppel Shipyard’s work scope includes refurbishment and life extension works, upgrading of living quarters to accommodate 90 personnel, installation of an internal turret mooring system, and installation and integration of topside process modules.
