OSLO, Norway – Saipem’s semisubmersible Scarabeo 5 will perform permanent plugging of an exploration well in the Norwegian Sea for Statoil following approval from Petroleum Safety Authority Norway.
Work on well 6406/2-7-1 is expected to start next month and last 47 days.
The site is in a water depth of around 293 m (961 ft), and 6,390 m (20,964 ft) from the Kristin Q flowline.
