OSLO, Norway ā€“ Petroleum Geo-Services(PGS) plans to begin a multi-client 3D program in the Ceduna sub-basin offshore South Australia, using its GeoStreamer technology for broader bandwidth and deeper penetration.

The program, named ā€œSpringboard,ā€ will see some 8,000 sq km (3,089 sq mi) of true broadband GeoStreamer data acquired, with plans to start acquisition in late 2014.

The Ceduna area has become a hot spot for exploration activity following recent gazettal round awards to major E&P companies, and it represents a massive and under-explored frontier area, with the Springboard survey area presently lacking any 3D seismic data.

The survey will be acquired using PGSā€™Ramform Sovereign.Ā
