STOCKHOLM, Sweden – Lundin Petroleum says its North Sea cross-border Brynhild development is progressing more slowly than expected. Start-up is now set for late summer.
The delay is due to commissioning issues related to theHaewene Brim FPSO operated by Bluewater on Shell’s Pierce field in the UK sector. The vessel will host the subsea tieback from the Brynhild field in Norwegian waters.
Lundin saysHaewene Brim has undergone a comprehensive modification program to accommodate commingling of hydrocarbons from the two fields.
This includes upgrading of the topside heaters and metering systems, installation of a modifiedsubsea control system, and replacement of the risers. The company says commissioning of the new equipment has taken longer than anticipated.
