Ocean Nomad completes first Western Isles production well

ABERDEEN, UK – Dana Petroleum says the first production well for its Western Isles project in the UK northern North Sea has been completed and flow tested.

The semisubmersibleOcean Nomad has drilled three more wells, all of which have been cased to surface casing depth. All four subsea christmas trees have also been installed.

Dana and partner CIECO are developing the Harris and Barra oil fields for the project, 160 km (99.4 mi) east of the Shetlands and 12 km (7.4 mi) west of the Tern production complex, via five production and four water injection wells tied back to anewbuild FPSO with oil exported via shuttle tankers.
