STAVANGER, Norway – An unplanned shutdown of the CATS riser platform late last month has caused numerous UK North Sea fields producing through the system to also be shut in.
However, the CATS operator plans to reopen the restricted section of the system before this weekend according to Noreco, a partner in one of the affected fields,Huntington.
In the Danish sector, DONG’s temporary solution at the Siri Fairway, which involvesproduction direct to a tanker has worked well, Noreco says, despite sensitivity to weather conditions. However, output this month will be impacted by repair work at the Siri platform and a well work-over program at the Nini facility.
Cecilie and Enoch, two Danish Norwegian fields that have been shut in, should restart production before mid-year, Noreco adds.
