TGS compiling frontier region seismic data-sets

TGS has provided an update on its recently completed and ongoing seismic acquisition surveys.

ASKER, Norway ā€“ TGS has provided an update on its recently completed and ongoing seismic acquisition surveys.

During 1Q 2014, the company worked on a 2,200-sq km (849-sq mi)multi-client 3D survey offshore Benin. Offshore Madagascar it completed a 1,950-km (1,211-mi) joint venture 2D survey and two TGS-owned 2D programs totaling 8,800 km (5,468 mi).

TheMadagascar data will serve a license round that is due to be announced later this year.

In the Barrow sub-basin off northwestAustralia, the company completed the 2,100-sq km (811-sq mi) 3D Huzzas survey. In the Great Australian Bight off South Australia, it is acquiring the 8,300-sq km (3,204-sq mi) Nerites 3D survey, and should complete this campaign by mid-year.

Finally, in partnership with Dolphin Geophysical, TGS completed acquisition on the 5,000-sq km (1,930-sq mi)Olho de Boi 3D survey off Brazil. The survey was designed to image presalt and postsalt plays in the Campos basin.
