STAINES, UK – Fairfield Energy has assumed duty holder responsibilities for its Dunlin Alpha platform in the UK northern North Sea from AMEC.
The platform, 200 km (124 mi) northeast of the Shetland Isles, handles production from theDunlin field and the Dunlin Southwest, Osprey, and Merlin subsea tiebacks.
The transition followed a period of extensive platform modifications and improvements to ensure future production. It also comes on the back ofUK decommissioning tax relief via post-tax securitization.
Ian Sharp, Fairfield’s COO, said: “AMEC has played a fundamental role in the successful works completed to date to extend the life of Dunlin and we will continue to build upon the effective relationship, initially established in 2008, through two new contracts to serve our operator support and brownfield engineering and construction needs going forward.”
