ABERDEEN, UK – Faroe Petroleum expects operator DONG Energy to submit a development plan by year-end for the Glenlivet gas field west of Shetland.

The partners have secured export capacity through new gas infrastructure that Total is installing in the area as part of itsLaggan/Tormore development project.

In the same region, Faroe participated in BP’sNorth Uist exploration well in block 213/25c. The well encountered gas/condensate in the main target formation, which was of varying reservoir quality. The reserves are unlikely to be commercial on a standalone basis, so the partners (led by Nexen as the new operator) are now evaluating other exploration opportunities in and around the license.

Offshore Norway, operator Centrica is maturing the Fogelberg and Butch Main discoveries toward field development plan submissions, according to Faroe.

In Fogelberg’s case, development would coincide with availability of capacity in theÅsgard production and transportation system, which would allow the gas to be exported to mainland Europe.
