Teekay to acquire installation provider

Teekay Offshore Partners has agreed to acquire the Netherlands-based, long-haul towage and offshore installation services provider ALP Maritime Services.

HAMILTON, Bermuda – Teekay Offshore Partners has agreed to acquire the Netherlands-based, long-haul towage and offshore installation services provider ALP Maritime Services.

As part of the transaction, valued at about $260 million, Teekay Offshore and ALP have ordered four new SX-157 Ulstein-designed towing and anchor handling vessels, which will be capable of ultra-long distance towing, offshore installation and decommissioning of large FPSOs, FLNG units, and floating drill rigs.

Niigata Shipbuilding & Repair in Japan will build the four dynamic positioningvessels, which should be delivered in 2016.
