LONDON– Premier says the execution phase is under way for the Banda field project offshore Mauritania after the government approved the development plan.
Bids are under evaluation for the subsea production system, umbilical, pipeline, and process plant. The partners have started gas sales negotiations and arrangement of payment guarantees with prospective buyers.
Premier expects sanction for the project by 2Q 2014.
Following completion of subsurface studies for the 69-bcf (2-bcm)Tevet gas field, the partners submitted a conditional declaration of commerciality to Mauritania’s government. They aim to develop the field via the Banda facilities.
Elsewhere in the region, drilling is expected to start soon on the Tapendar-1 exploration well on license PSC C-10, targeting the untapped deeper cretaceous potential.
